Magic Mile

How fast can you go? A chance to see how what you can do over one single, measured mile. All abilities are welcome; you may be pleasantly surprised at how you do. The club magic mile events also count towards the club standard awards.

How It Works

  1. Meet at the designated start area (make sure you get a good warm up first and have a watch to time it).
  2. You’ll be asked for your name, age category and predicted finish time (just for fun to see how close you are and to help group you with people of similar ability).
  3. A short safety briefing and explanation is given.
  4. You’ll be set off in small groups 30-40 seconds apart according to predicted finish time (this helps with other users of the footpaths and gives you some company to drag you along to a good time!).
  5. At the finish you’ll be asked your actual finish time (don’t forget to stop your watch!).
  6. If you’re lucky and we’re prepared, there may be water and sweets at the finish.
  7. The results will be added to this page either later that day or within a couple of days at worst.
  8. Get preparing for the next one to see if you’ve improved!
